EDIT-Edited the lighting alignment and improved the moon's sulfuric areas.
Thanks to ~SamODJ for pointing out some unbalanced components of this work. _______________________
Zephyros, a large terrestrial exoplanet, circles a reddening sun. The world is unusually silent-no volcanic or tectonic activity. However, its large satellite is highly volcanic spouting sulfuric gases and melted sulfur across its ever-varying surface.
I really like this one. The silent planet sandwiched between the red-speckled starscape and the erupting volcanos on the small moon makes a good buffer.
I like how the planetary features look like the marbling of fat and muscle, like the planet itself is a living organism.
Though there is a bit of nebula in the southwest corner of the picture that looks like it had a rake run over it (dark vertical lines). It looks unnatural to me. Other than that I love it.
Good story, it all fits well. A reddening Sun means the Solar system is old, and by then, I'm sure ll geological events on the planet would have ceased ages ago. While the Moon's volcanoes is probably due to the strong gravity of of the big planet, Jupiters moon IO does thae same thing.

Why is delivering things in a car called "Shipment" while delivering things by boat is called "Cargo" ?
Definitely does look better upright. Still, the problem I have with this work is the cropping. Because the planets are being lit from the top right corner, and you have cut off alot of the larger planet, it actually seems more natural to assume the planet is being lit from top light (whilst obviously the moon is lit from top right.) Altogether that ends up making it seem a little confusing, and destroys the dynamic of the piece.

Sam brings up a good point. The scene, detail and lighting is stunning as I would expect from you, however the lighting is a little confusing. First impression was, well, impressive, but with a further look it becomes a bit confused as you don't know which way the planets are supposed to be aimed (and if they are aimed to the right, then it breaks the composition which I felt is aimed towards focusing on top left).
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
