its pretty. might I ask why you wouldn't work out the isometrics for this concept? I could easily work most of this into a isometric sprite layout. -- how about this I will take some of your concept and sent you an example in a week or two

sorry- was a bit tired when I wrote that last comment. I really do like it. its an elegant concept. just always jump to whatever ive been focusing on lately. I'd love to see this finished. ile be watching :D

the game won't be isometric, and there won't be sprites except the characters.

I really like the style of the trees and houses. Very soft and atmospheric. And the guy, which is the avatar I guess, adds a perfect dark touch to the whole, making it even more mysterious. One point of criticism would be the small flowers. They're good, but as soon as I noticed them they kind of got annoying because they stick out so much. Maybe make them softer, or a bit bigger and plant-like?
